Programme for autumn 2011
An evening of culture and history
There will be a brief talk on the history and architecture of Emo Court by Jacinta Rigney of the O.P.W. on Thursday, 20 October, at 8.30pm in the Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise.
The talk will be followed by an illustrated item entitled "Horse Power", which takes a look at private transport in Ireland circa 1900 including both the use of horse drawn and "horseless carriages, presented by Ronnie Mathews of Portarlington.
This double feature talks night is part of the autumn series of presentations organised by Laois Heritage Society. All are welcome and admission is free.
